Swedish Massage

Massage doesn’t just feel good. Research shows it reduces the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and increases endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers.

The Mayo Clinic notes that massage therapy can be used to help manage pain.

Therapeutic massage enhances medical treatment and helps people feel less anxious and stressed, relaxed yet more alert.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is thought to work by stimulating smell receptors in the nose, which then send messages through the nervous system to the limbic system — the part of the brain that controls emotions.  Some studies have shown that aromatherapy might have health benefits, including:

Relief from anxiety and depression
Improved quality of life, particularly for people who have chronic health conditions.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep-tissue massage can help in managing chronic pain.  It’s a specific type of massage therapy that concentrates on the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body; and recommended by many doctors as a treatment option. By using deep finger pressure and slow, firm strokes, deep tissue massage is used to treat a variety of physical ailments.

Trigger Point Massage

Trigger point massage was developed by American Dr. Janet Travel in the 1940s. The technique uses pressure applied to the muscles to relieve pain and correct dysfunction in other areas of the body. Trigger point massage is also known myofascial trigger point therapy, because it works on the myofascial sheath that surrounds your muscles, rather than on the muscles themselves.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage is result oriented. The treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions that may have been diagnosed and prescribed by a Doctor.  The therapist may use a variety of modalities or procedures, as listed above, during the treatment, but will focus the Medical Massage treatment only on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis and prescription.

No-Fault Massage

No-fault is a medical massage billed in 15-minute segments using current procedural terminology and adhering to the usual and customary reimbursement fee schedule. Have you been in an automobile accident recently? Are you suffering from whip-lash or some other auto accident-related injury? No-fault automobile insurance usually covers several massages weekly.
